Henry Reed
More than any other fiddler, the influence of Henry Reed shaped my fiddling repertory and style.  Many of his
tunes are now part of the broad repertory of oldtime fiddling in the South and around the country.  When I
retired from the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress, I set up a fund commemorating him, the
Henry Reed Fund for Folk Artists.  Here are links to websites that will tell you more about Henry Reed.

Fiddle Tunes of the Old Frontier: The Henry Reed Collection.  A Library of Congress website containing
all my field recordings of Henry Reed, along with my original fieldnotes and tune transcriptions, an essay I
wrote on Henry Reed’s life and influence, notes on each tune, and photographs.
